Common questions

Quick answers about direct primary care.

What is direct primary care?

A healthcare model where you pay an annual membership fee directly to your doctor for unlimited primary care services, bypassing insurance for routine care.

How much does it cost?

Membership is billed annually, with family and corporate discounts available. No copays or deductibles for covered services.

Do I still need health insurance?

Yes, you should keep insurance for emergencies, specialists, hospital care, and major procedures. Many members choose high-deductible plans with lower premiums.

Does insurance influence my treatment plan?

No. Because we don't bill insurance for your care, your physician isn't constrained by what an insurer will approve or cover. Every plan is decided independently between you and your doctor, based on what's medically right for you — not on what a payer allows. That's a truly unconflicted plan of care.

What's included in membership?

Unlimited office visits, annual physicals, preventive care, chronic disease management, basic lab tests, telehealth visits, and 24/7 doctor access via phone, text, or email.

What's not included?

Emergency room visits, specialist care, hospital stays, major procedures, advanced imaging (MRI/CT), and prescription medications.

How do I access my doctor?

Same-day appointments, phone calls, text messages, email, and video visits. Most practices offer 24/7 communication with your physician.

How long are appointments?

Typically 30–60 minutes instead of the usual 8–15 minute rush. Your doctor has time to actually listen and address your concerns.

Can I cancel anytime?

Membership is billed annually. Reach out anytime to discuss your options.

How is this different from my current doctor?

Your DPC doctor manages only 600–800 patients (vs. 3,000+), spends more time with you, and is directly accessible without going through insurance or office staff.

What if I need a specialist?

Your DPC doctor provides referrals and coordinates your care with specialists. The specialist visits aren't covered by DPC but your doctor helps manage the process.

Is this legal?

Yes, DPC is legal in all 50 states and regulated by the same medical boards as traditional practices. Many states have specific laws supporting the DPC model.
